Calculation Methodology

Design event: 10-year (10% AEP)

Method: Site-Specific Design

Dunedin requires site-specific design. Post-development must result in no significant increase of runoff up to the 10-year event. Source control (on-site soakage and detention) required to reduce peak flows. Detention structures must have an 80-year design life.

Design Requirements

  • 10% AEP (10-year) - no significant increase in runoff to receiving body
  • Detention structure design life: 80 years
  • Source control systems: on-site soakage + detention
  • Catch-pits designed for 10% AEP design runoff
  • Stormwater Quality Bylaw 2020
  • Code of Subdivision and Development 2010
